Over 20 years have passed since the Fauves played their first show, now the Fauves have a new album – When Good Times Go Good. The Fauves will preview When Good Times Go Good at NSC, supported by the Bell Divers from Qld and Marine Trumpet. The Wreckery played their last show at Melbourne Uni 20 years ago. They had just completed what would be their last and best album ‘Laying Down Law’ when the wheels came off and the band split - it was the end of 4 years of staggering wild live shows and amazing song writing. A Melbourne formed group, The Wreckery came together by Hugo Race and Ed Clayton-Jones on their return to Australia from tenure with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds in Europe and USA. Robin Casinader joined on drums having played with Hugo and Ed in the Art punk outfit ‘Plays with Marionettes’. Nick Barker and Charles Todd finished the line upon bass and sax respectively. This July the band will release a new CD on The Memorandum label; ‘Past Imperfect’ - a comprehensive collection of songs spanning their whole career. August 08 will see The Wreckery return to the stage for a brief tour.

Cloud Control are four folk from the Blue Mountains: school friends, brother and sister. Inspired by the great melody makers of our time, Cloud Control embrace the alt-folk tradition, with Neil Young-inspired vocals and inventive pop melodies. The band salutes the music of yesteryear with boy/girl harmonies reminiscent of The Lucksmiths and Fleetwood Mac. In 2007 Cloud Control recorded their debut EP live to analogue tape, in collaboration with Jon Hunter (Belles Will Ring/The Holy Soul/The Laurels) and mastered by Don Bartley at Benchmark Studios. Cloud Control play NSC showcasing song writing that is characterised by a playful yet intelligent originality.

Now here’s a treat. Gary Arce, Bill Stinson and Mario Lalli were part of Yawning Man, a mythical group that some say created stoner, desert or whatever rock you wanna call that particular brand of beautiful heavy music. Brant Bjork said they were ’’the greatest thing I’ve ever seen’’; a huge influence on Kyuss and their many spawn. They now play in the equally-mythical TEN EAST. Everyone likes surprises, things you mostly wouldn’t see anywhere else, so on invitation of Meredith Music Festival TEN EAST will be here and play the NSC.
